Happy Valentine’s Day! I thought it would be helpful to get a little guidance for the day ahead. I hope you find it helpful! Love to you all! Nancy
I am looking at a red rose from the top of the flower. The petals make curved patterns of light and dark. I am drawn to the shaded parts of the petals. There the deep red becomes almost black. I feel myself melting into one such place. I’m hidden in its folds and feel a gentle feeling of peace.
Roses are such interesting symbols. They have thorns while at the same time having such a lovely scent and beautiful petals. We are like that aren’t we? Lovely and prickly depending on our mood. When I imagine myself as the flower, I feel myself as the dark, still spaces and also as the bright light-filled quality as well. Sometimes, I am more drawn to one aspect or the other. Both, though, are always present.
Today, I will let myself rest in the hidden parts of myself, allowing their quietness to fill me with peace. Today, I will remember to love all of me, even the thorns.
I pray it is so, and so it is…
I hope you are all having a wonderful time celebrating! I love the feel of turtle energy. It is so gentle, calm and steady. It felt like a good energy to connect with as we head into 2014. I wish you all peace within your own being, love in your hearts and lives, and a joyous year ahead! Below are some directions to work with the energy of the image.
How to Work with the Image to Support the Process
- Take a moment to center yourself. Close your eyes and breathe in and out slowly three times. Let your exhale be longer than your inhale.
- Open your eyes and focus on the image. Ask your Spiritual Support Team to help you come into harmonic resonance with the image and to receive the amount of energy from the essence of the place for your highest and best good.
- Use your imagination to put yourself in the photo. Use all your senses to interact with what is shown. What do you feel, see, hear, smell, taste and touch as you connect?
- Ask for Divine guidance on how you can incorporate the gifts from this essence into your own life and situation. Allow yourself to feel the love and support flowing to you and through you from the Earth and the Divine.
- Repeat the affirmation (see caption) as you breathe in and out slowly.
- Be open to any additional thoughts, sounds, smells, or images that come to you as you are working with the photo. Consider these as messages to support you on your path. Ask what these impressions mean to you. What do they make you think or feel?
- Continue to recall the image throughout the day when you wish to bring in the energy it provides.
- Express your gratitude for the gifts given to you through the experience.
Love and blessings to you all!
Do you find some of your relationships to be challenging? If you do, you aren’t alone. Personally, I find relationships to be a primary source of learning for me (and from the sessions I’ve been doing lately, I’d say this is true for a lot of people). I realize that the purpose of my relationships with others is to help me to understand my relationship with myself, which ultimately leads me to my relationship with God. Apparently, the process isn’t so straight forward though while you are in it!
I have a few tips that I have picked up along the way that you might find helpful. The primary one I am sharing today is a wonderful book that has been out for a while called The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This particular book is for those who are married, but the concepts have universal appeal (and Chapman has written many other books with different relationship focuses). When my massage therapist mentioned the concept of the book, I was intrigued. Was it possible that some of the struggle in feeling loved and supported came from a language breakdown? After reading the book, I am convinced that is exactly the truth.
Chapman shares five languages that he believes we use to communicate and receive love. They are:
Words of Affirmation
Acts of Service
He explains that we all have a primary language we use to communicate love and receive it. A fascinating concept, especially when you discover that your primary means of expressing love are different from those you are in relationships with! Chapman offers a self-test in the book (and also on his website – see below for the link) to help you determine what your primary love language is. While the book is geared to married couples as I mentioned above, I feel the concept is something we all need to know. Why? Because we are all in relationships with other people. Human beings are wired to be social creatures (even though we all have times when we wish that wasn’t so!). We are also in a relationship with ourselves and one with God. I believe understanding the last two relationships is of primary importance as we evolve (and we get to that understanding through the other relationships in our lives). After all, doesn’t it seem important that we understand the language that most speaks to us when it comes to love? Isn’t that something important to know about our spouses, children, parents, friends, and colleagues? I think it is.
The other beautiful thing that came from reading this book was forgiveness. Reading this book makes it clear that some of the painful interactions we have with our loved ones are really not intended as they are received. When you realize this, you can pay attention to how you give love and be sure you are expressing it in a language that is understood. You can also teach your loved ones the language that most speaks to you.
I am including a link to the website and the book below. As I mentioned, he has also written books on the 5 Love languages for singles, children, teenagers, and a special men’s edition. Regardless of which book is read, I really believe getting a better understanding of how love is communicated will be enormously beneficial in our quest to live a more heart-centered, love-filled life.

This photo is of the Gulf of Mexico taken in Longboat Key, Florida. I invite you to use the meditation steps listed below to connect deeply with the energetic essence of this place. When you are ready, imagine that which needs healing in you or your life as a fish which you release into the water. As you feel the fish come into communion with its home environment (as our home is in the Divine which ocean represents), know that it is safe for you to release it completely. Feel the healing flow into your being, as you repeat the affirmation. Below are some suggestions on how to work more deeply with the image.

February’s theme is Creation, a perfect theme for the beginning of 2013 (January felt like the clean up loose ends month from 2012). So what does this mean for you and me? Well, I feel like we are beginning a process of learning how to create in a whole new way. Instead of setting a goal based on what our intellect recommends and working step-by-step to manifest it, we are learning to listen to our heart, set an intention, invoke Divine support and allow ourselves to be guided through the process of bringing this intention into physical form. It is an exciting time to be alive!
Last week, I had a wonderful session with Jeanne Michaels of Lemurantis. We were recording a call on how to use the Chakra Vortex Essences that she creates for those in my Earth Sanctuary program. Along with the very powerful healing energy that was flowing, she also shared a few pearls of wisdom that sparked some new pathways of thought for me. One of the activities she had me do at the end of our session was to work with gratitude. I was all ready to start sending out my gratitude to Mother Earth when Jeanne surprised me by saying, “Allow yourself to receive Mother Earth’s gratitude for you.”
This really surprised me! I had never considered that Mother Earth would be grateful for me. After all, aren’t we, as humans, always taking from her? Jeanne explained that as we connect with the chakra vortexes of the Earth, we are activating them, which is sending this powerful energy through the energetic grid of the Earth. This helps the Earth and all the creatures that live on her. I could feel the truth in what she said as she spoke. I was able then to allow myself to shift my perspective. I opened and felt myself “soaking up” this wonderful loving, flowing energy from Mother Earth. It was so gentle, supportive and kind that it brought tears to my eyes. After we spent a few moments with this, then Jeanne had me send gratitude to Mother Earth for the gifts she’d given me as well. It was as if the energy flowed in this perfect cycle, flowing in, flowing out. The circuit was complete where before it had only been one-sided.
I woke up in the middle of the night (my prime meditative time these days) and had this light bulb moment. I was working with Archangel Metatron on the concept of prosperity. What I was guided to do was to allow myself to receive (and really absorb and experience) the love and gratitude from those I have or am currently working with. This was more difficult than it sounds. I could easily send the love and gratitude I felt for each of them, but when it came to allowing me to really feel how much they valued me and their investment in what I do, it was much harder. It was as if a pathway that allowed me to experience this type of unconditional love and support had been shut down a long time ago. I had to keep practicing to move the fallen logs and debris out-of-the-way for the energy to flow to me. Once I was able to clear the blockage, it flowed very easily. I could feel my whole system soaking it up like a long dried out sponge. A wonderful experience! I realized that my love and gratitude for my clients wasn’t only because of what they were giving to me, but mostly because of how much I truly felt grateful for Who They Are. I could feel the same coming my way. Not that they loved me simply for what I could do for them, but instead the love was for me because I am being Who I Am. What a difference in how this felt!
I started playing with this concept in relationship to money. When I thought about receiving money, I felt tightness and fear. There was a fear that the people giving it wouldn’t have enough. There was a fear that I wouldn’t have enough. When I started applying the concepts above to it, suddenly the giving and the receiving of money was an exchange of love and a true acknowledgement of the gift of each person being who they really are. I have “thought” these ideas before, but suddenly, I could actually feel them! How appropriate that as we begin a month where we are focusing on our foundational level (first chakra) through my Earth Sanctuary Program, that I would be given such a gift from the Earth. To be able to allow myself to really receive through the heart instead of through the intellect is so important in the process of creating a solid, dependable inner foundation to build our new lives on.
As safety is key to this foundation, the concept of money comes to mind. I think money has been an exchange of fear so often in our society and world. I feel we are in the process of revising this, so that it takes on its true form as an expression of unconditional love and gratitude. Here are a few additional insights that came out of the experience connected to the concept of money:
- Money is simply the physical form of this love and gratitude. When I allowed myself to feel the money I receive as love, I was able to feel much more comfortable with receiving it.
- When we spend money, we are actually saying “I love you” to ourselves and the person we are sending it to. We are expressing our gratitude for the service or product they are providing, while also allowing ourselves to receive the gift of this service/product.
- Rather than focusing on the money we are giving away when we spend it, focus instead on the gratitude and love you feel for the service or product it is purchasing. From this point of view, paying anything takes on a whole new meaning. Gratitude is what we feel instead of fear that there won’t be enough. Feeling gratitude invites more opportunities to receive and feel more gratitude. We are spreading love, not fear.
This month, I invite you to play with this concept. So often, we rush through our lives and don’t really allow ourselves to feel the abundance of love, kindness, prosperity, peace, friendship, time, and joy that are in our world. Set the intention that this month, you will really soak it in. Let all the good in your world surround you and empower you. You really are a bright light. The world would be a very different place without the essence that is you here. That is true not because of what you do. It is true because of Who You Are.
In conclusion, I’d like to share a metaphor I was given that shows this concept. I’ve been hearing that we have evolved into new species. We are now butterflies with wings instead of caterpillars that crawl. The image I was shown pointed out that a butterfly’s motivation is to find the beauty and go where that is. I had a huge ah ha moment today as I was working with my dear friend, Lauren May. Butterflies have to drink the nectar for new flowers to grow. The nectar’s purpose is to attract the butterflies. It nourishes the butterfly and it helps the plant to spread because when it lifts off, the butterfly takes the pollen of the plant with it, carrying the seeds for new flowers to be born.
Take a look at your own life. Are you really drinking in the nectar of the flowers that are already in your life? If we don’t allow ourselves to feel the love and abundance we have right now, new sources of this abundance can’t grow. We have to do our part. Drink in the love that is expressed in your world through gifts of time, friendship, money, and simple pleasures. Really let yourself feel these gifts and in doing so, you plant the seeds for more and more love to flow into your life.
Much love to each and every one of you!

Below is a message and audio recording I sent out to my community members earlier. I felt that I should share it here as well. Love to you all.
I’m sure you’ve all heard about the shooting in Connecticut at this point. I felt guided to create an audio recording for our community in connection with this event. I believe that after we have processed our feelings about this event, loved our feelings and sent love to those suffering, it is time to set a very clear intention for what we want to see manifest. This just under 10 minute recording is an intention setting meditation to manifest a country where love leads, a country that is truly heart-centered so that all who live here are safe. A place where our children are safe, not because they are protected by those with bigger guns or locked away in a prison-like place, but because there is no threat to them. I know that at the moment this seems like a pipe dream. I feel though that the only way that is going to change is if we demand the change happens. I am not talking about storming Washington. I’m talking about within us, choosing consciously to create a country that is heart-centered and where love rules. That’s what this meditation is about. It is all of us, coming together, to invoke the creation of such a place from the power of love.
If this appeals to you, I invite you to listen to the meditation. The link is available on this page: 12/14/2012 Recording
Much love to you all,
I had another life changing session with Jaap Van Etten. We have both been receiving similar messages about the path ahead. Our discussion led to a concept that has been coming up in readings I’ve been doing over the last month. We both feel that our species is in the process of evolving. Our lizard brain that is still wired to react with adrenaline to prepare for fight or flight is not serving us well these days (as modern challenges rarely allow us to respond in either of these ways). As this part of our brain evolves, we are moving our instinctive reaction to one of love instead of fear. So how do we do this? The message both Jaap and I received was to LOVE the fear.
Loving what we are afraid of seems like a crazy idea. And yet, it is impossible to experience fear and love at the same time. Try it and you’ll see what I mean. Think about something that worries you. Then repeat, “I love my fear about (insert what you are worried about).” Keep repeating it for a few moments. How does your body feel? I’ve found when I do this, my system relaxes and the fear disappears.
Why does this work? It has to do with what these two emotions evoke in our physical system. Love sends a message to the body that all is well. It sends calming, soothing hormones through the system. It opens and flows. The breathing slows and the muscles relax. Fear, on the other hand, sends the message that we are in danger. When it arrives, our body tenses and tightens. Breath shortens the organs are lifted up under the rib cage and our senses go on high alert. We are ready to fight or run for our life.
Clearly, these two responses are completely opposite. So when we focus on love, the body gets a message that contradicts the worry we are experiencing. It allows us to relax and deal with the situation calmly (which is the reaction that works best with our modern-day challenges). The key to all of this is to recognize that when we stop fighting fear (or trying to avoid it) we can allow it to lose its power to harm us. We can truly be centered in love. When we love, we align with our highest good and we align with who we really are.
Love the Fear Challenge
Would you like to join me in a month-long endeavor to change our instinctive response from one of fight or flight to one of love? Participation is simple: Just commit to spending 5 minutes twice a day to meditate on feeling love. Try using a simple statement such as “Breathing IN I love. Breathing OUT I love” as you slowly inhale and exhale. Imagine yourself somewhere peaceful where you feel relaxed and safe. Throughout the day, keep this practice in mind and when you begin to feel fear (which often masks itself as anger, sadness, boredom, guilt, frustration, or anxiety) then say, “I love my (fill in what you are feeling) because it is teaching me to love myself.”

This is another Morning Musing entry with some Divine insight and guidance for your day. I hope you find it helpful!
The lion has both masculine and feminine associations. It is also a symbol of personal power and courage. Rabbits reflect prosperity, but also drawing to you what you fear. The rabbit intuitively feels like a cat purring and the lion feels useful or needed.
Today, I will remember I am both needed and cared for. Today, I will let myself trust my own power and my ability to attract abundance through love, not fear.
I pray it is so, and so it is…
Have a beautiful day!

“When you love you should not say, “God is in my heart,” but rather, “I am in the heart of God.”
Kahlil Gibran, The Prophet
I was shown a metaphor for our Divine Nature and I thought I’d share it.
The first image was of a beautiful blue lake and I was told that the lake represents the soul. One drop of that lake comes into the physical self for this incarnation. The lake is connected by a vast river to the ocean. The river represents the Angels, Archangels, and Ascended Masters who help us connect to the Divine. God by whatever name you call him/her is represented by the ocean. When we come into human form, we bring with us a miniature of this representation into our experience. A drop of God comes and surrounds us. We are able to connect to God through the Angels, Archangels and Ascended Masters through a river that connects and travels through each of the chakra areas. We are also able to connect directly with God through the thinning of the veil at our head and feet. Within us is a drop from the lake that is our soul. Our Spirit Guides were shown as souls in canoes helping our consciousness navigate the waters.
I felt the river travel through the side of my body from right to left and then circle around. When we are in a state of love, we allow this “water” to flow smoothly and effortlessly through our system. We are “in love.” Do you remember what it feels like when you “fall in love?” Colors are brighter, the air is sweeter, and all that matters is the object of your affection. In those moments, we too see the truth of who we are. We are able to love ourselves as they love us. While in this state, love flows through all the pathways and channels opening us to bliss.
It is my belief that spiritual enlightenment comes when we begin to experience this same intense love for the Divine and are able to see our true reflection from this source. Over and over, Spirit has told me that the answer to any question is love. This is something which seems so simple in theory, and yet so hard in practice. How do we love when we feel misunderstood or hurt? How do we love when the person we feel this love for does not return our affection? How do we love when we are afraid? Loving the Divine allows us to love free of ego attachments, misunderstandings and fear. It allows us to love cleanly and purely. It is a love that needs nothing more than to be given and received.
Imagine if each of us brought into this life a spark of God that is here for us alone. This spark would still be of the same Essence as the Great Divine…the source of all…and yet able to be in a form that we can relate to and understand. Just as the drop that has formed who we are in this lifetime is still of the same substance of the vastness of our soul, so too is the drop of God still of the same essence of the Divine, the source of all. And all of these aspects are made of the same basic material, of water in this metaphor. We are God and God is us because we are of the same essence and we come from the same source. Our conscious experience doesn’t allow us to experience this fully while living in a human body, but we can have moments of feeling that inexplicable connection to something much vaster than ourselves. And if we are all of the same essence, of water, then so too are all those we meet. The essence of our lake/soul may be slightly different, but at our core we are all from the same source.
From a spiritual point of view, this makes perfect sense to me. Yet, how does one explain how there can be such cruelty and violence in a world in which we are all incarnations of God? I asked this question, and this is what I was shown.
I saw construction workers building walls. Some of the walls were made of steel and some brick. Some were mud and unstable. The workers were building these walls where the river flows connected to the chakras. At the top of the head, I saw steel covers like you’d find on a submarine with thick locks. The feet were wearing thick-soled shoes, so thick that the ground couldn’t be felt beneath them. I heard them say that some souls come into this experience expecting to be able to live separately from God. They want to be “independent” and beholden to none. I hear “How can you be beholden to yourself?” This question doesn’t occur to them because they don’t see themselves as Divine. Others come in with deep wounding. They feel that the only way to be safe is to keep themselves separate from all. In doing so, they keep themselves sectioned off into aspects of their psyche, only allowing part of whom they are full expression. They limit the love they give and/or the love they receive. Through this incarnation, they will be faced with challenges that encourage them to take down the walled up spaces, and open themselves to love. Some will remove all the walls, and some will only remove a few. The process requires courage. I hear them say, “You all have enough courage for the task.”
I hear, “Let life be simple. Love, be loved, forgive, laugh, dance, and be. You are perfect just as you are. Be at peace. All is well.”
Blessings to you and yours!
Each day of our lives we walk around with a collection of perspectives or archetypes that make up our personality. Carol Pearson Ph.D., author of Awakening the Heroes Within: Twelve Archetypes to Help Us Find Ourselves and Transform Our World, discusses these twelve archetypes that make up our psyche. The first two are the innocent and the orphan. The innocent is the pure inner child who has yet to experience wounding. It is the part of ourselves that believes the best in others and expects good things to come to us. It’s our internal optimist. The orphan is a child who has experienced wounding. They’ve been abandoned on some level and found the world to be unsafe. They expect the worst and have little faith in the world as a good place to live. Both of these aspects are in each of us. We may resonate with one more than the other, depending on our life experience, but each aspect exists in us all.
I believe that the first step to living a heart-centered life is to bring these two aspects of the inner child into balance. If we are living to strongly in either perspective we are inadequately loving and caring for ourselves. For instance, if I am more centered in the perspective of the innocent, I will find myself wounded by people and circumstances where fear is dominant. If I am more centered in the perspective of the orphan, I will be unable to trust in the good of others and will experience limitation and lack.
A healthy child has a good mother and father. The mother nurtures, encourages, and comforts the child as they experience their world. The father protects, supports, and creates a safe space for the child to grow. The child has to trust the parents to truly be in a state of love and peace. As an adult, you are your own parent. You are the one who decides what is safe, what boundaries to set up, what experiences to try and you are the one who provides the comfort when life becomes challenging.
This month, I encourage you to find a picture of yourself when you were a young child. Put it somewhere prominent that you will see every day. As you go through the month, ask yourself what this child needs. Is she tired? Has he had a good meal? Would she like to play for awhile? Think of this child when you are confronted with decisions. By asking yourself if the decision you are about to make would benefit this child self, you are coming from a more loving space and will therefore make decisions that are more in harmony with your highest truth.
Here are a couple of upcoming opportunities to empower you through this process:
The Divinely YOU Club: Do you feel trapped in old patterns? Do you find yourself reacting to current situations from the mindset of old wounds?
