I asked for some Divine input and the metaphor I was shown is below:

I am standing on slate that begins to crack and shift beneath my feet.  I struggle not to fall.  I hear: “What do you wish to be standing on?  Choose that and it will be so.  There is no need to stand on something that is at an end.  Choose instead to stand solidly on your new truth.  It will support you with ease.”  I look down at my feet and see that I’m now standing on soft, thick grass with small blue flowers all around me. 

Using this image and some additional guidance I’ve been receiving, here are three simple steps to help you move forward with ease through your own transition. 

1.  Stay clear on your intention.  Where are you going?  Spend time imagining yourself in the life you are moving into.  Even if you don’t know the particulars, you can still immerse yourself in how you want to feel.  In doing this, you are setting a clear intention for what you want to experience.  Make note of what qualities or experiences are important for you to incorporate into your new situation.  You are choosing how you want this new life to look.  Make sure it is in alignment with your needs, not the “thou shalts” of those around you.

2.  Keep it simple.  When we get out of balance, our emotions can confuse the process.  This is the step where we invoke all the love and support we can receive to get through the transition and achieve our intention in the simplest way possible.  Ask your highest self and your Spiritual Support Team of Angels, Archangels, Spirit Guides and Ascended Masters to provide you with simple, clear steps to reach your intention.  Ask them to motivate you to do whatever is needed to reach your goal.  Then pay attention to what you feel drawn to. Listen to and respect your feelings as they are guideposts pointing you in the right direction.

3.  Make a commitment.  To feel safe and comfortable during a transition, we need to be able to trust ourselves.  What do you need to get through this change with ease?  I’ve found using an affirmation beginning with “I promise myself…” can be a very powerful tool for me to really feel my own dedication to nurturing myself while moving into a new situation.  For example, if you are transitioning into a new career, you might find the following affirmation helpful:  “I promise myself that I will release the old and move into the new in my life with ease and grace.”  If you are moving to a new home, you might try the affirmation:  “I promise myself that I will easily and effortlessly create an amazing new home that I absolutely love!”  If you are leaving a relationship, you might find the following helpful:  “I promise myself that I will accept new loving relationships in my life with those who adore me and who I adore.”  Also, promise yourself that you will create the space to honor that which is ending in your life.  Take the time to recognize the people, experiences and emotions about the experience that has ended.  Bless all of it with love (even the parts that have been painful), and promise yourself that you will take what you’ve learned and let go of the rest as you move forward.

Communicating with Your Spiritual Support Team Guided Meditation

1.  Find a place to relax where you won’t be disturbed for 10-20 minutes.

2.  Take a deep breath, inhaling through the nose and out through the mouth.  Repeat this two more times.

3.  Set a clear intention.  I use a prayer to begin, so that I make it clear what I am asking.  This prayer should include the following elements:

• Ask to be grounded and centered in your own system
• Ask to be a clear channel to the highest Divine source (insert whatever Divine being you believe in such as Jesus, God, Buddha, your highest self, the Angels etc)
• Ask that all communication be filtered through the highest Divine source throughout the meditation (this will prevent you from having spiritual contact that comes through in a way that is not highest and best for you)
• Ask that a window of time be created and during that window that all information you receive in the form of images, thoughts, sounds, and feelings will be Divinely inspired
• Ask that you receive whatever healing and wisdom is needed for your highest and best good
• Ask the highest Divine source to keep the communication open and clear until the meditation is complete

4.   Imagine a place to meet with your Spirit guides that you will visit every time you do this mediation.  Pick somewhere that feels comforting.  I like using nature images.  Begin your journey by following a simple path.  You will use the same path and see the same landmarks every time you visit.  Let yourself be open to imagining with all your senses!  What does the air feel like?  Do you smell any particular scents in the air?  Is it sunny or cloudy?  Just let your imagination wander and make a note of what you experience.

5.  Imagine yourself sitting somewhere comfortable in your special spot.  Ask your Angels and Spirit Guides to help you.  Ask a simple question or request healing.  Let yourself just relax and “see” or “feel” whatever comes to mind.  I find it easiest to imagine this as listening to a story or watching a movie.  Imagination is the threshold for all Spirit communication.  Don’t worry that you are “making it up.”  What comes through will be what you need to experience, since that is the intention you set. 

6.  Conclude your mediation by thanking your Spiritual team for their guidance, love and continued support.

7.  Walk back up the path.  Take a deep breath and return your attention to your present environment.

Often, messages come in the form of images, sounds, words, or feelings.  It helps to have some tools to use to interpret the message.  There are many wonderful sources to use!  Anything book can be used, but the more thorough the resource, the easier it is to interpret the message.

I’ve been doing some work with this concept and a few techniques came through to work with this idea.  Check them out below!

1.  Ask yourself, “Am I standing on fear or love?”  A good way to determine if you are operating on a belief system that is in alignment with your soul is to uncover what you are using to make a decision.  Are you choosing out of fear of the consequences of your choice or are you making the choice based on love for what you are choosing?  For example, think about a time when you are trying to decide what to eat.  Do you make the food choice because you LOVE what you are going to eat?  Do you feel it is life giving and that it will really nourish you? Or are you making the choice out of fear that you must eat something healthy to avoid disease and illness?  By making sure that we are aligning with the vibration of love in our choices, we are standing on the foundation that is in sync with our soul.

2.  Check in with your feelings.  Pay close attention to your physical reactions as you think different thoughts.  For instance, if you are thinking about taking an action, notice if you feel light and peaceful or tense.  If you feel tense, ask yourself what is the foundational belief that is leading me to take this action?  Next, ask yourself if this is something you personally think is true, or simply something you’ve been told is true.  As we evolve, we must determine what truths we stand on.  It is no longer possible to blindly accept the “thou shalts” of our elders or colleagues.  We need to KNOW that what we are using as the framework to make our choices is based on truths in alignment with our own soul.  Only then will our choices align with our life purpose.

3.  Write out your truths.   Think of this as your personal Code of Honor. These are the truths you live by.  Spend some time with each item and make sure you really feel each belief is true for you.  When I did this for a client, Spirit brought through ten different metaphors for these truths.  Since the Bible provided Ten Commandments, maybe ten is a good number of truths to aim for!

4.  Understand yourself better.  By doing deep inner work, we are able to get a broader understanding of who we are and what makes us tick.  There are lots of books, spiritual advisers, counselors and programs available to help you do this.  You may also find a personality test helpful.  I recently completed a Myers-BriggsPersonality Test and found the results to be deeply insightful.  It helped me to see some patterns in my psyche that resulted in me investing in truths that I no longer believe in.  If you’d like to try this test, check out the link at the end of the article.

5.  Choose what you want!  What if you could decide to make certain truths “givens” in your life?  For example, what if you chose to have safety be a foundational truth?  Imagine if being safe was something you could count on as surely as you expect to be able to take your next breath.  You wouldn’t have to worry about it or figure out how to make it happen.  It would just be true! You could actually just rest in the knowledge that you are safe.  And what about doing the same thing with financial security, loving relationships, and fulfilling work?  The good news is that you CAN choose this! Make the decision that having your needs met be a foundational truth for you.  Ask the Divine to make it so!  Then spend some time living in that reality.  Feel how wonderful you feel resting in the truth that you are safe, loved, and fulfilled as part of the basic foundational truths in your life.  The Universe wants you to be in alignment with the Divine and your highest truth, so that you can be most fully yourself.

From Letting Go of “Doing”

As the energies shift and we all evolve into more clear expressions of our true nature, we are called to let go of old approaches. Using the caterpillar/butterfly metaphor, sometimes it is difficult to switch from the focus of getting things done (for example, finishing off the leaves on the branch you are on) to focusing fully on creating and appreciating the beauty around us.  Have you ever found yourself feeling pulled in a thousand directions at the same time?  Sometimes the drive to “do” can throw us into a state of confusion and exhaustion.   We lose our focus on looking for the beautiful and get caught in accomplishing tasks.  As I’ve been experiencing this lately myself, I asked for some guidance.  Here is what came through…

As the energies shift and we all evolve into more clear expressions of our true nature, we are called to let go of old approaches. 

Have you ever found yourself feeling pulled in a thousand directions at the same time?  Sometimes the drive to “do” can throw us into a state of confusion and exhaustion.   We lose our focus on looking for the beautiful and get caught in accomplishing tasks.

As I’ve been experiencing this lately myself, I asked for some guidance.  Here is what came through…

I saw myself standing in a room with doors all around me.  The room was round.  The doors were all open and I was looking from one to another in confusion.  When I stopped and gathered myself, I asked the Angels to close the doors.  I could feel my system relax and I saw an image of myself sitting on the floor in the middle of the room.  I turned my attention into the core of my being and asked, what do I really want to know right now?

The answer I heard was that I want to know which door to open first.  They all were appealing and I felt the need to get to work.  But what I heard was that the doors are all illusion.  There aren’t really any doors to be opened or closed.  Instead there is only love.

Spirit asked, “What do you love?  What would you love to create?  What would you love to do?”

I saw myself taken out of the room with all the doors and I was sitting on a wind-swept mountain.  I could see for miles and the sun felt warm.  There was a forest before me.  I stood up and walked along the path, taking my time and enjoying the sensations and scents.  As I stepped beneath the trees, I breathed in the fresh pine scent and felt my whole body relax.  There was a hush beneath the trees, a deep stillness.  I let myself soak it up for a moment.  But only a moment…soon I was back to looking at all the choices around me.  Should I sit beneath a tree?  Go back to the path? Return to the clearing?  I felt the swirling chaos again, and then I heard Spirit ask.  What do you want to do? 

I found myself answering that I want to do it all (again, a caterpillar with too many  yummy leaves to be eaten)!  I heard…

Then do what you want to do the most first, and then do the next thing.  There is no time limit.  There is no chance that you won’t get to what you truly feel drawn to do.  There is no “have to’s” for you to reach your goals and dreams.  Be a butterfly, not a caterpillar.  Follow the flowers! Look for bright colors!  Daydream…

I find that it helps to use a metaphor when incorporating new wisdom.  Here are a few simple steps to follow using the butterfly metaphor.

Butterfly Wisdom

1.  Gather yourself.  Be still and listen to the beat of your own rhythm and song.

2.  Soak in the sun with wings open to receive all the love and support available to you.

3.  Lift off. Take that leap of faith and trust.

4.  Let the wind support you.  There is no need to struggle or strive.  The Universe is on your side.  Let it lift you and gently guide you to where you really want to go.

5.  Land only on what is beautiful.  Seek the most beautiful flowers in the garden of your life.  They are there, simply waiting for you to find them.

And a final thought from Spirit…

Ask not what should I do, but instead where should I love?

I love this post by Lauren May on how to stay on our own "road" and why it is sometimes easy to get pulled off our path.

The Soul Friends’ Community is having a special call on Sunday (3/25, 7PM-8PM E.S.T.) to learn about the wisdom of the Shipibo Culture in the Amazon.  Below is a description of the call, along with some intuitive insight I received:

The Language of Plants:  Traditional Healing in the Shipibo Culture

Presented by Mershona Parshall, LISW-S, ATR-BC

Join us for an empowerment call focused on the Shipibo Tribe located in the Peruvian Amazon.  We will discuss their traditional ecological knowledge and contemporary issues. Mershona has been traveling and working with the Shipibo since 2007.  She is the International Coordinator for the Shipibo tribal council and the director of Shipibo Joi, a non-profit with the mission of supporting the Shipibo tribe. Mershona also works with Shipibo curanderos or healers.

I’m feeling intuitively that the information she has to share will help all of us in this time of transition.  My sense is that we need to learn to incorporate the ability to live in Spirit and close to the Earth, while incorporating the technology and other aspects of modern life.  They are showing me that we are not “going back” to primitive living, but instead of bringing up this wisdom into our modern world.  The image I’m seeing is of a vortex where the Earth wisdom is being funneled up to the top of the spiral which opens up to spiritual wisdom.  To me this feels like some type of deep intrinsic learning in which we are able to “see” how to really live in harmony with all of our being (spiritual and physical).  I’m getting the phrase, “infusing simplicity into complexity.”

The word “claim” is very important with this process.  We need to be willing to claim ourselves, all of ourselves.  I spent a lot of time over the last several years digging through all the forgotten or hidden aspects of my psyche and coming to terms with what I found there.  In my Soul Friends’ book, I talk about the Soul Friends’ preferred method of dealing with skeletons in the closet…bring them out to dance!  I’ve found that in truth, most of the parts of ourselves we are afraid to admit to or face our usually much more positive than we realize.  Shadows on the walls are bigger then when you look at them directly.   We also need to stop claiming that which is not us.  I find that many people are claiming “facts” about their personality which are really just emotional responses to experience they have had.

We talk of shielding and boundaries frequently when I am working with clients.  It feels to me as if shielding is actually better termed as being unwavering in our own essence.  When we know who we are and feel the truth of our Divine Self, our essence cannot be altered by others energies or emotions.  We are free to invite the world to visit, knowing that we won’t be adjusting what they find when they come.  All the Universe asks of us is to be truest expression of ourselves.
